Geenroom Projections, Wood and Mixed Media Sculpture, 2021

Living a split life between two sides of the world, I have placed myself as well as my work in a position of transformation. Stemming from the influences of Balinese wood sculptures and the more traditional European landscape paintings, my work lies in juxtaposition of two distinct styles.

Having yet to fine a cohesive blend between the two, my most recent works expose some of my roots in sculpture, as they reflect both my interpretations of hoe and a more nomadic life-style. With the use of both three dimensional elements and two dimensional mediums, I aspire to push my concepts of home, shelter, and safety to a new level. With my multi-media back-ground I expect boundaries to be broken as multiple mediums collide, bringing forth new creations and ideas to which I could push further in future pieces. Much of my art as of recent has consisted of scrap materials, such as wood and a multitude of translucent materials. In an effort to regain control of my perceptions of home I have created a series of small scale modular structures that act as building blocks. The ever changing models the pieces create reflect my also unresolved memories of my two homes.
